What is happening at GoldCoast Academy?

As the year is coming to an end we thought it would be a good time to summarize what has happened this year and what to bear in mind for the future.

This year has been very eventful for us being a fairly new training centre and having started during the pandemic. But there are some things that feel just right to start regardless of the situation.

We have had a great number of students and have managed to get a lot of positive feedback from both the students and the companies that they are working for. This really kept us going and trying even harder to be better and to grow.

But there is so much more to be done in the future. We can see the demand for plant operators is big and largely unfulfilled so it seems like a great time to address what can be done to aid this situation.

We believe that these times call for a great dialogue to be started and perhaps evens come long term plans to be drown for growing the plant operators community.

With many companies asking for more and more skilled and site ready operators we try and deliver the highest possible standard of training. We also invest in the newest possible technology to keep up with ever so changing demands and new trends in the construction industry. We have just had the TopCon GPS 3d installed and are ready to take on the training now and are still working on several new systems to implement. We are very happy to be one of the first training centres in the UK to have done that and promise not to stop there.

As the industry grows and tries to meet deadlines for its projects we are trying to come up with a plan to invite and introduce new talent and youth to the plant operating world. We are just about to have our youngest operators train on site in a hope that it’s just a beginning. We would like to plan few events around the country to go out and meet the young talent. If we are to fulfil the great demand for highly skilled operators we better get a head start on the planning!

At GoldCast we are all about the quality rather than quantity so we do try and improve our qualifications and our skills to make sure that the is a consistent high standard in our courses and we do deliver operators that are site ready.

We were very happy to have attended the UK Plant Operators operator of the year event. The great deal of talent and skills we saw has really made us feel even more motivated and sure that we have to be the UK best and most advanced training centre. Training is what we love and hearing back from students that are happy working and enjoy their new job keeps us going and wanting more. We are passionate about delivering high quality of talent.

Next year we would also like to make sure that we do everything we can to introduce more women to the industry as we noticed more women came to Goldcast Academy and reported that they were very happy working in their new careers. Havening spoken to few plant hire companies and construction sites already we were told that there is an increased number of women in the industry so it looks like it is no longer just the man’s world after all! Our job here is to open a dialogue for introducing our courses to women and show them what a wonderful work it is and just how lovely the plant operators community is.

We do believe that 2023 is going to see a large influx of new talent and hope to be part of that expansion. Our founders are so passionate about the machines and showing people what a great trade the plant operators job really is.
