Types of accreditations
GoldCast Academy offers courses with both CPCS and NPORS accreditations. You can choose what’s more suited to your needs or what is required by your construction company.
CPCS and NPORS are both widely accepted in the UK but some employers or building sites are a bit more specific as to which they prefer. There are slight differences between the two when it comes to the training and an exam itself so if you are unsure which to chase, ask one of our trained advisors for help.

CPCS
Construction Plant Competence Scheme- CPCS is often regarded as the most popular accreditation in the UK. Main goal of the CPCS training is to ensure the highest standard of operating the machinery on site as well as health and safety aspects are met for every candidate.
You must pass the verbal exam first before you can attempt the practical test. You will be provided with training materials. It is required that before any CPCS testing takes place a candidate must pass the CITB health and safety test.
NVQ2 Diploma in Plant Operations
NVQ2 is a plant operations qualification. It is a competency based qualification. It proves that you are an experienced plant operator that can carry out work effectively and efficiently with all aspects of health and safety.
During this course you will focus on learning productive work practices. In order to upgrade your skills as an operator it is essential that you take this course.
Once you finish your course you will be issued a certificate confirming your skills and abilities.

CSCS Construction Skills Certification Scheme
CSCS is a leading provider of skills certification scheme in the UK. A CSCS card is essential to prove that a construction worker has received adequate training and possesses skills necessary to carry out work on a site.
The card itself is not a legal requirement however, most building sites require all its employees to get it in order to guarantee a uniformed performance on a building site.
In order to obtain this card you will need to pass the CITB test.
NPORS
National Plant Operators Registration Scheme is an original registration scheme for operators, founded in 1992. It is widely recognised and extremely respected. NPORS offers a wide variety of training types.
Including one where employees can be trained and examined on the company’s site, making it incredibly efficient for employers that require a group training without having to send their employees off to a training facility. NPORS cards can now be issued with CSCS logo making it much more attractive for any employers as it will cover the health and safety aspect of an operator’s training. This makes the card even more attractive.
NPORS training can be tailored to operators and the company’s needs.
We can make an arrangement for our trainer to travel to a building site and carry out training and assessment on site.
